Questions About Our Other Builds

What does The Original Mini Barns build besides sheds?

Decks, pergolas and gazebos, chicken coops, stationary RV roofs and flower planter boxes. Custom mini barns are the main thing, but the shop takes on most outdoor structures. The phrase that gets used around here is that all things are possible.

Are chicken coops built to order, or is there a standard size?

They’re built to order, same as the sheds. Size, layout and finish get worked out for the flock and the yard before anything gets cut.

What’s a stationary RV roof?

It’s a permanent roof structure built over a parked RV to keep the weather off it. For anyone who stores a rig on their property year-round, it’s a lot cheaper than a garage and it keeps the sun and rain off the roof seals, which is usually the expensive part to fix.

What are decks built from?

Composite decking is the usual choice, and it’s the same material offered as an add-on for shed decks, stairs and ramps. Composite holds up to Washington rain without the annual sanding and sealing that pressure-treated lumber needs.

Can a deck or pergola be added to a shed project?

Yes, and it’s a common combination. Decks, stairs and ramps are already listed as shed options, so it’s usually simpler and cheaper to do both at once than to come back a year later. Mention it during the quote so the site prep gets planned around it.
